West Cork Amenities
When you stay at Sam Maguire Cottages you'll be at the centre of things and spoiled for choice. Encompassed by spectacular scenery, with hills and lakes to the North, South and West, Dunmanway has often been referred to as ‘The Gateway to The Mountains’ and is ideal for hillwalking, fishing and horse-riding. Dunmanway’s rich history has left it many legacies including several fine historical buildings which include the 32 metre tall Ballinacariga Castle approx. 8 km from Dunmanway town.
Dunmanway is ideally positioned to act as a base for the tourist visiting the south west. Many of the main towns in West Cork, including Bantry, Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Bandon, Kinsale, Rosscarbery and Macroom, can be reached by car in less than half an hour. An hour's journey by car will take you to Cork City, Killarney, Kenmare, Castletownbere, Glengarriff or Schull. The town is also less than 20 Km from several sandy beaches.
Fishing
